Sprite Holiday Campaign

All the way back in June I had the opportunity to go to LA for a photo-shoot for the Sprite Holiday Campaign.  As you can probably guess from the 5 month lead time on the project it was a fantastic production; every detail was covered and a large and highly skilled crew made the shoot fantastic!

This was actually the first commercial shoot where Ty Milford used the wireless iPad review system.  For this shoot we used the Canon 1Ds mk III transmitting to two iPads, using a sequential relay to push FPO images to both devices in real time.

Wireless iPad Review on location for Royal Robbins

Royal Robbins 2013 Fall Behind the Scenes from Zac Hardy on Vimeo.

Here is a quick iPhone BTS video from a photo shoot for Royal Robbins, an outdoor clothing company.

The photographer is Ty Milford, a fantastic commercial life style shooter who owns one of my wireless iPad review systems.  Ty’s style is built on flexibility and freedom, so the iPad system is great for including clients, art directors, and stylists in the process without interfering with his ability to move freely and engage talent.

This shoot was produced by Elizabeth Nicole, who found us some great locations, great talent, and kept 10 people warm and well fed in Moab Utah and the surrounding area.

Bo Baumgartner, who is Ty’s regular Digital Tech and Assistant was there as well, and he even got a few breaks to shoot some awesome landscape images, check him out here.

It was a privilege and a lot of fun to work with Ty, Bo, Elizabeth, and Royal Robbins again, lets do it again in April of 2013 guys!

Vanderbilt Basketball shoot

Today’s work was my first time working with Vanderbilt Creative Services in a capture/ commercial role.  I’ve done some freelance photo work for them before, mostly event coverage and athletics work, always fun stuff.  Our shoot for the day included basketball players and fans for a print and web campaign.  We shot the Canon 1D X today, fastest camera around and great images too!  Our super-chill Art director from Luckie loved the iPad image review, easy to walk around the set with, and no need to worry about tripping on wires.  Our talent, a mix of students and student-athletes, benefitted from seeing the images when taking direction and seeing the shots turn out also helped keep them engaged without having to move laptops or cameras around the set just so they could have a quick peek.
